[Special to Press Association.] LONDON, Feb. 20. Eight thousand five hundred guarters of Australian wheat, January and February shinments, sold at 80s 9d. The rate for three months’bills has risen a quarter per cent. Bank of Ireland stock dropped 9 per cent yesterday. During the last fortnight it has receded 17 per cent. Feb. 21. Bears have depressed all Colonial stocks except those of New Zealand, Mr Holmes, formerly Secretary 16 the Foreign Bondholders’ Association, proposes that the Colonies should assign the Customs’ revenue as security for their debts, and establish a Bank to collect dues. By this means the Colonies, be believes, would induce the investment of trust funds in Colonial stocks. NEW YORK, Feb. 21. The Official Receiver appointed fop the Philadelphia and Beading Railway Company, states that the assets are ample, and that the crisis is owing to the enormous business of the Company, and the small amount of capital- The prospects of the Company are sound. OTTAWA, Feb. 21. The Canadian Government has subsidised a line of steamers to trade to French ports. SHIPPING LONDON, Feb. 21. Arrived—Pakeha.
