ANOTHER POLITICAL MEETING. LONDON, Jan. 6.

Another large Liberal gathering took place last evening at Birmingham. The Hon John Bright and Mr Chamberlain were again present, and addressed the meeting. In the coarse of their speeches, they alluded to the intentions of the Government during the approaching session of Parliament, and announced that after the question of Reform of Procedure of the House of Commons had been settled, Bills for the reform of the English land laws, the assimilation of the Oonnty to the Borough franchise, and for other objects, would be introduced by the Government.

TURKEY, AUSTRIA & GERMANY. Relations between Turkey, Austria, and Germany, hare lately assumed a most friendly tone, and the growing entente between the three empires is daily becoming more marked. BREAKING-OFF OF THE TREATY NEGOTIATIONS. PARIS, Jan. 7. Negotiations between the English and French Commissioners lor the conelusion of the French Commercial Treaty have now been finally broken 02, and Mr Cross, the British Delegate, has returned to London. The Paris papers to-day, in their leading articles on the subject of the termination of the negotiations, almost unanimously profess anxiety that a Treaty should be concluded between England and France.

DISTURBANCES IN DALMATIA. YIENNA, Jan. 6.

Intelligence is to hand from Southern Dalmatia that agitation among the inhabitants of the district is daily increasing, and fears of a general rising are entertained. The Austrian Government has accordingly despatched a force of 7000 troops to the scene of the threatened disturbance. PROPOSED AMERICAN CONVENTION. WASHINGTON, Jan. 6. A circular has been issued by the United States Government to the Republics of Central and South America, inviting them to send delegates to a convention to be held in this city in November next, for the purpose of conferring on the subject of their common interests, and for the adoption of guarantees against foreign intermeddling in their affairs. COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE. LONDON, Jan. 6.

Consols have farther advanced to 100*; New Zealand securities are unchanged. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, remains at 575; New Zealand ditto at 535. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,890,000 quarters. Adelaide floor, ex store, 42s 6d. The tallow market is strong. Australian—best beef has advanced to 42s 6d, best mutton to 475. The total stock of tallow in London on Jan. 1 was 7200 casks.

Best Scotch pig iron, No. 1, f.o.b. in Clyde, has advanced to 545; galvanized iron, 26 gauge, £lB ss.
