Cholera is decimating the troops in the Barbadoes. An important seizure was made at Kobe on Oot. 8. of soTen boxes of treasure, of the value of £6300, supposed to oonsist of silver subsidiary coins, packed up in small amounts in paper parcels. The coin belonged to Chinese,,but was shipped for bb.angb.ai in the name of the Hongkong Bank, that corporation having bought bills against it. The Chinese ovrneri of the treasure oonfessed that they had secreted at the bottom .of three of the boxes fire bars of gold, of the value of £1460 j and it was owing to that circumstance that the treasure had been eeized —gold bullion being a prohibited export, though gold coin is not.
