OHEIBICHURCH. Tuesday, Jan. 3. (Before J. OUivier. Esq., 8.M., and G. L. Leo, Esq.) Dbpkkbk>’K3S. - A woman not previously convicted of drunkenness was discharged with a caution.—Three other first offenders were fined 5* each.—Elizabeth Oliver and Michael Lynch were fined 10s each, or in default 48 hours* imprisonment. Labcbny esom the Pebson. James Cross and Zilphe Cross were charged with stealing a £5 note, and a purse, value Is, from the person of Henry Hayes, on Saturday, Dec. 31, Sergeant Mason applied for a remand till Friday next. Mr Joyce, who appeared for the accused, did not oppose the application, but asked that bail might be allowed. The Bench remanded the prisone-s till Friday, Jan. 6, bail being allowed each prisoner in £SO and two sureties of £25. Neglected Children.—William James, Charles Edwin, and Walter John Cross, children aged respectively sis, four and two years, were accused of being neglected children within the meaning of “ The Neglected and Criminal Children’s Act, 1867.” The accused were the children of the prisoners in the last case, and the Bench considered it advisable to remand them also to Friday next.
