THE Education Board of the District of North Canterbury hereby publicly notifies that pursuant to the power in that behalf, conferred by “The Education Act, 1877," it has resolved to alter the boondariea of the t'ohool Districts of Barr Hill and Lanriston, so that a certain part of the former district of Barr Hill may he included in the district of Lanriston, and that from and after the Ist Jan., 1882, the following are the bonn. daries of the two distrlots ; Boundaries of the School District of Lanriston: —Commencing at the Railway crossing at Lyndhnrst, thence north-easterly, follow, log the road north-west of section 2877 d to the northernmost corner of section 30770, thenoe southeasterly by the eonth-weat boundaries of sections 28333, 21082, and 21031 to the road west of a block of sections numbered from 18165 to 18172 inclusive, thence southerly by that road to the southernmost corner of said sections, thenoe north-easterly by tbe road south, east thereof to the northernmost corner of section 26902, thence south-easterly by the sonth-west boundaries of eeotiens 27330 and 25137 to the southernmost corner of the latter section, thence north-easterly following tbe south-eastern boundary thereof to the road north-east of said section, thenoe south-easterly along the seme to the easternmost corner of section 25364, thence south-westerly by the road southeast of the latter section to the road southwest of section 26669, thenoe northwesterly along that road to the easternmost corner of section 26705, thence sonth-westerly following the eonth-east boundaries of sections 26705, 27065, and 27688, to the line of railway, thence westerly by the same to the northernmost corner of Reserve 2181 (in red), thence sonth-westerly by the north-west boundary of said reserve to the westernmost corner thereof, thence by a straight line to the easternmost corner of section 27985, and following the sonth-ea>itern boundaries of sections 27985 and 28887 to tbe road sonthwest of the latter section, thence northwesterly by said road, to the westernmost corner of section 28310, and from thenoe returning northerly in a straight line to the commencing point. Boundaries of the School District of Barr Hillßounded towards the north-east by the river Raksia ; towards the southeast by the read eonth-east of section 7301; towards the south-west by the Lanriston School District (hereinbefore defined); and towards the north-west by the road north-weet of section 30770, and by the north-west boundaries of sections 34127, 16657, 31126,31128 30539, and a line ia continuation thereof to the Bakaia. The Board hereby calls public meetings of the householders in the above-mentioned districts to be held on Monday, the 23rd day of January, 1882, at 7 o’clock in the eyening, for the purpose of electing Committees for snob districts for the year ending upon the fonrth Monday in January 1883. The place of meeting shall be, in the Ba r Hill district—the Schoolroom, and in the Lanriston district—the house of Mr J. Dent! The Board farther directs that the flrat meeting of each School Committee shall he held in the place appointed for the election, and immediately attar the election upon the same evening. J. V.
