ROAD BOARDS.

LITTLE BIYJffIE. A special meeting of this Board was held at their office on Friday, Deo. 30 ; present— Messrs Forbes (Chairman), T. H. Parkinson, Wilson and Judge.—lt was resolved that the matter of making eide-ditohes along the Hill read be postponed, and that the Clerk attend to repairs necessary.—With regard to encroachments on the road leading to Western Yalloy, it was also resolved that the Clerk proceed to Christchurch to obtain plan, &o. of this part of the road and place it, with all the correspondence and other information, in the bands of a solicitor for advice; also, that the Clerk attend to the state of some culverts on Okute Yalloy road, and that his action in selling the timber in old bridge at Kimber’s be confirmed.—lt was decided that the Natives be employed to cart shingle, screened, from the river-bed above the bridge at J. Archer’s house and stack it on the road side.-—Correspondence was received s—From Mr O’Callaghan, requesting permission to plough and harrow the side of road leading through M'Queen’s Valley, to kill young gorse. Granted, in terms of his letter.— From Chief Surveyor, re transfer of roads. Resolved—“ That the thanks of the Board be tendered to him for his uniform courtesy and the valuable information contained in his note.—From Messrs Tribe and Murray, requesting material to make an approach to their property. It was determined that the Board could not grant this for private use.— Mr Berryman’s tender, to do work on Dunford’s road, was accepted.—After passing some accounts for payment, and other business of a routine nature, the Board rose.
