[Per Press Association.] (For a.s. Australia, viA Auokjand.) VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, Dec. *9. Iho Russian Consul at Melbourne has received from the Consul at Sydney a telegram asking if a Russian man-of-war could be docked at WilHamstown. The matter was referred to the Commissioner of Customs, who has directed the dimensions of the Alfred Graving Dock, and a copy of rule No. 2 of the dock registrations, to bo forwarded to Sydney. The rule provides for vessels in commission of foreign notions being docked free, merely paying wages and materials. A quantity of smuggled tobacco, from the wreck of the Brio the Red, has boon seized on the premises of a storekeeper at Geelong. A prosecution will be instituted.
