Solicitor : Thos, 8. Weston. Secretary pro tem,: F. Waymouth Temporary Ofjtcbb : HEREFORD STREET CHAMBERS, Christchurch, THE Company is projected with the object of providing the moans of preparing and rendering fit for export the Surplus Stook snd Dairy Produce of this district by the Refrigerating or other process. The present intention of the Promoters is to restrict the Company's operations to the preparation of Meat and Dairy Produce for shipment on OWNER’S ACCOUNT, and to arrange for the sale thereof in the London Market. It is intended that the Company ehallhavo power either to purchase or ship on Owner’s Account, as may be found desirable; and also, that they shall oontrol the Sale as well as the Freezing and Export of the Produce, until the schema is fully in operation, it being evident that a concentration of interests is necessary in placing shipments on the Markets. The Preparation and Storage of Cheese and Butter for Export will become one of the moat important operations of the Company, and as the Market in England or those products is practically unlimited, at prices showing SO per cent advance on Cheese and 100 per cent on Rutter over those current in this Colony, an extensive Export may bo confidently anticipated. The Promoters, recognising this all-important feature in the project, propose to provide Cool Storage for Butter, Cheese, Ac., whore snob may be collected from Farmers, as produced and accumulated, until a vessel is ready to receive It. After careful enquiry, it is estimated that the amount of Capital to be called up (£10,000) will bo sufficient to acquire suitable premises, erect the necessary buildings, provide all requisite uuohiuery, and meet the preliminary expenses. The English and Colonial Insurance Companies offer to cover shipments against all risks, including deterioration on board ship from any causa, for 6 per oont premium. The Promoters aro assured that the London and St Eatheiino Docks Company have already arranged to fit up vaults with proper appliances for cool storage specially to meet the requirements of the Frozen Meat and Provision Trade. Tho Promoters have sufficient evidence before them to prove that tho proposed business could be carried on at onoe with a reasonable certainty of substantial profits, on any purchases of Stook at current rates. They will, therefore, confidently rely on those who are directly or indirectly Interested in developing the grazing Industry of the country, to assist thorn in carrying out that which, it properly managed, cannot fail to prove a very profitable undertaking. ... Forms of applicatio n can bo obtained from'the Secretary, Hereford street, Christchurch, at the Bank of New Zealand, Christchurch, and its Agencies throughout Canterbury. 2924 9458 84
