A telegraphic line ia to be laid by the side of the line of railway between Tokiyo and Tagaaki, Japan. The coat ia estimated at about 860 yen per ri. Major Honan, a veteran of the Peninsular war and Waterloo, died recently at the little village of Gilford, county of Siroooe, Out., having reached the ripe old age of 106 yean. A pretty woman wag dangerously ill at Rising Sun, Inch, and the physician promised to cure her if she would desert her husband and elope with him. The bargain was carried out on both sides.
