FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

[Pn Paxes Ahooution.J WEmNGTON, Dio. 80. A telegram, received this evening from Mr Hsnnay, Manager of Bailways in Christ* church, states that an engine and seven wsggone of the South goods (rain to Clinton left the nils one mile north of Kaibaikn. The fireman, J. Boodman, was killed, the driver, Carter, was braised, and tha pamper slightly injured. Considerable damage was done to the road, which is being cleared as quickly as possible. The cause of the sod* dent Is as yst unknown.

DUNEDIN, Dio. 80. A train, leaving Baldutha for Clinton at 4p.m. this afternoon, ran off the rails near Ware pa station. It is reported that the stoker was killed. Dr Smith, from Baldutha, has left for the scene of tbe accident.
