ROAD BOARDS.
HEAIHCOTE. The above Board met on Friday last it 16 a.m.; present—Messrs F. Jones ’(ChaL-man). T. Bruce, J. O’Neill, G. Dryden, and W. Attwood. —Re rock in front of Marine Hotel, it was decided that t-i it was no inconvenience to the public the Board could not move it, but they would not object to Mr Pathos doing so.—JZe footpath on Slaughterhouse road, the Clerk wae instructed to call fer tenders to make same as far as Paluret’s gateway.—The Clerk was instructed to advertise annual meeting to take place on Friday, Jan. 6, 1883, at 12 noon. —Re pipes over River road ; ordered to be done.—closing of road in SLS.I3S, the resolution passed by meeting of ratepayers on Dec. 3 was confirmed. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Gas Company re damage done to road; also, to inform the contractor for Drain road that the penalty for non-completion would be enforced.— The Foreman was instructed to see that the agreement with the pound keeper as to feeding cattle was carried out.—The receipts were reported to be £329 17s 9«L—Correspondence was read from;—Mr A. Cuff, re tie fence on New Brighton road opposite his place. The Board could not grant the request.—Secretary Lower Heathcote Bacing Club, re read to course. As the notice was too short ihe Board could not grant the requsst.—Drainage Board, re road in sandhills. Received— it* H. B. Williams, re accident on Ferry road. To be referred to Drainage Board.—Mr J. T. Bell, re exchange for road at Sumner. The matter was deferred for the new Board.— The Clerk was instructed to write the Drainage Board re pipes on Lower Avon road.—After pawing accounts for £loC ISs 6d, the Boird adjourned.
