NEW YEAR'S DAY AT KAIAPOI.
The annual display of fireworks wilt this year be a much superior one to that *>n any previous occasion, the preparations having been made on a grand erale. The following is a list of Die pirns *. - night of roekrls, golden showers of coloured light*, rainbow wheel, Prince of Wale** feather* ard rocket*, ttoman candies ami tourbillons, verticle wheel, pyramid with coloured lights, devil ant Oof the tailors, fire balloon and rockets, flying dragon and tourbilton, rose, central wheel with triangle, catcade and rocket*, mortars and tourbillon, mot star balloon and reckete, four-armed wheel with diamond lights, flying dragon and tourbillon, mines and rockete, harlequin and asteroid rocket, • Chinese queue and horieontal wheel, Vulcan and his assiduous myrmidons, Saxon and rockets, bright sun and asteroid, two Italian streamers, devil among the tailor#, flying dragon and monster balloon, brilliant wheel with coloured lights, bouquet and Prince of Wales* feather, girandole wheel, cascade and tourbillon, octagon and . horisooted wheel, dragon and bright sun, girandole wheel, rotation piece and rockets, capricious wheel and tourbillon. Device—“A Happy New Year, and good night.” The torchlight procoiiion will include reprreentatires of the ChrUtehuroh and Ban. gtora Brigade*, and will march through the town from the Brigade station, alone Haven and Peraki streets, to the Ohoka road, along the North read and Oookson street to Cos* street., thence by Jones and Oharles streets to the station. The procession will be illumined with coloured lights, golden showers, and torches, and the pyretechnioal display will be made on the Ferry reserve, near the Council Chamber.
