Berlin, an American trotting stallion, hied Xf A. J. Hue Dudley is also the dam of Datura (<ria), 2m 88*), bacramento (2m M|*), Altarick (record, 2m 26|»), and Mambloo Dudley (record, 2m 224. Berlin is now 11 years old, is a dark brown horse, standing 18 hand*, and has all the appearance of a powerful thoroughbred, which in point of fact, he is. lie was purchased from Mr Alexander by Mr John ucudrio, and taken to ficollstid when two years old, and ho has remained in that gentleman's possession until August last, when ho was bought by Mr Wilkie. His stock are remarkably promising-his first foal, Mice Douglas, having won the Muswell Hill flukes at Alexandra Burk, London, when 8 yean and 8 month* old, in three straight heats of two miles j time, 5m 2»*s, 5m 20s and 5m 10s, Mr Alexander is one of tho most celebrated breeder* of (rotting horses in America, and amongst other* ho bred the celebrated Maud 0., the fastest trotter ever known in the world (record, 8m 10js), In 1830 tho produce of mares now at Wood burn, and of stallions bred at Woodburu, won 94 race* -179 heat*, 2m 80s or better j (H heat#, 2«» 25s or bettor i 18 heats, Em 20s or bettor. It may also be mentioned that Mr Alexander has a stud of thoroughbred hones at Woodburn, kept distinct from the trotters, and in this stud tho hone Foxhall, now creating such a sensation in England, was bred.

St Andrew is a OLdesdole stallion, foaled April 26,1879, bred by Mr Adam Gray, Ingleston cf Borgue, Kirkcudbright, Scotland, sire, Bonnie Scotland (1070), first dam, Darling 11 (187), by Victor II (IMS) j second dam, Darling I, by Clyde alias Johnny Cope (417) \ third dam, Old Sally, by Lothian 14m (600). Bonnie Scotland (1071), by Pride of Scotland R, dom Dandy, by Jack’s the Lad (400). ill thus bo • seen that St Andrew is a grandson of Mr WoUe’ Pride of Scotland, and son of Bonnie Scotland, the horse which Mr Biraio bought for Mr Walls at Dumfries, in 1878, at a very high figure, and which unfortunately died on tho voyage to New Zealand. St Andrew ie a good boy with black lege, a largo star and no other white. He is a loose made colt, with plenty of bone and inusolo, and has every appearance of growing into a large hone. He is a perfectly pore Olydesdale, there being no straine of English blood in any of his ancestors. He wa* purchased by Mr Wilkin from Mr Andrew Montgomery, who is considered one of the best judges of Clydesdales in Scotland, and whoso success in all the prominent show yards of Great Britain proves him to bo so The colt St Andrew him never been exl ibited, and therefore if ho is to gain laurels in the show yard his career is all before him.

In the details supplied to u* of the recent importation of pedigree rams and ewes ex Lady Jocelyn, it was stated that the Southdown ram was bred by Mr Jono*. .This wss an error, and tho name should have been Mr Webb.
