SOCIETY.

The Spring Show under the auspices of this Society mi held on Tuesday lari, in the Lection Town Hall, end, considering tlio recent dry weather and the lateness of the Show, it vu very successful. In pot plants there win a marked improvement on the Show of last teuton i Mr* Fincham showing lome very fine specimen* of geranium* and pelargonium*. The cut Dower* were very good j and, despite the dry weather, there wo* a fine show of rose*. Fruit and vegetable* wore but poorly represented, with the exception of cabbage* and rhubarb. Meur* Nairn and Son, of Christchurch, exhibited dome rose*, pelargonium*, and geraniums, which wore much admired. The special prixe offered by Mr Lawrence for the beet table bouquet, arranged by children, brought seven competitors, and was deservedly given to a very nice bouquet arranged by Misses Lunn ana Spring.
