The castle at Pau, whole content* were sacked Id the Sret molnfiou. was admirably rehabilitated with appropriate furniture fey Louis Philippa. Among tte contacts sras the cradle of Henry IV. (tVa was Ihs capital of the ancient kingdom of Navarre), which was of tortoise shell. When danger threatened the castle in 1709, some one substituted another cradle formed of tortoise shell in place of the original. Splendid gifts from Bernadette, tint Sing of Sweden, to Pan, his satire place, are among the treasure*.
