ANNUAL SCHOOL EXAMINATIONS.
MR GBE'B SCHOOL. The annual distribution of prises was made at this school on Monday last. Air Geo, in addressing the scholars, said that in teaching them three things had always bren in his mind 1—(I) That, whatoror the subject to be taught might be, they should be made to understand it as thoroughly as possible, and from all point* of view. (S) To instil into their minds a loro of enquiry, by opening out to them some of the wonderful truths which are made known to us by soisnee t to that, on leaving school, they might have the taste, and in some degree the power, to follow up such subjects as their individual inclinations and genius might incline them to 1 and (3) To impress upon them that any education which leaves God out of it-, is altogether defective; that the recognition of Hi* power and will underlies all roienoo as well as religion, since both alike are from Him—so that they might go forth from school armed against the Atheistical views *0 much ifi force in these tines, and which are covered with a flimsy pretence of science and reason.
