AUCKLAND, Dae. 17. Andrew Burse, of Mahurangi, aged 74, was accidentally killed by the faU of a burning roto tree which he wont to examine. NELSON, Dio. 18. Tho Supremo Court opened yesterday. True bills wore found against Hugo Hurts, for forgery, and Wiremu Api, for indecent assault on a Maori child. Korts pleaded " Guilty," and was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment. Api was acquitted.
DCNEDIN, Deo. 18. The Otago Fino Art Society opened its annual Exhibition of paintings yesterday. Hubert Millar, a young man residing at North Taieri, accidentally shot himself on Saturday. He was going downstairs with a loaded rifle in his hand on the way to the targets, when the charge exploded, the ballot entering bis jaw and killing him instantaneously, Mr Hobson concluded his recitals here last night.
