forthcoming sports. The highest tender, that of Mom Redforn and Co. for £2 2s, was ultimately accepted, on the motion of Mr Lambert, seconded by Mr Atkinson. Mr Search suggested that the course should be enclosed with barbed wire rope a* a moans of checking the encroachment of persons on to the course during the progress of the sports. The Chairman said that the Ground Committee would see to the fencing of the course.

It was resolved—" That the Amalgamated Societies’ Sports Committee should be allowed the use of the ropes, &0,, employed on Deo. 16, for their sports on Boxing Day.” Mr Hearell complained that there had not been sufficient publicity given to the time of entries closing for the various events. Andrews j clerks of the course, Messrs Farr, Atkinson, Lambert, Turner, Bearoll and Samuels ; bandioappers, Messrs Andrews and Wachsmann; timekeepers, Messrs Waohemann and Lambert j entries Secretary, Mr J. F. Smith. After the transaction of some business of a routine character, tho meeting adjourned to 4 p.m. on Thursday, when the final arrangements will be mode for tho sports to bo held in Hagley Park on Friday, Deo. 16.
