Another was devoted to the purCof a flower tent, and contained several pot plants, and bouquet* of various kind*. The third did duty a* a refreshment booth. These tent* were under the supervision of a number of ladies of the parish, who furnished most of the needlework and other articles offered for sale. A merry-go-round was provided for the amusement of the juvenile visitors, and appeared to be thoroughly appreciated by the youngster*. Lawn-tennis nets were pitched for the benefit of those who were disposed to play that popular game, while Mr Button'* band was also in attendance, and performed a number of selections in excellent style during the afternoon. Chaos’ Blast School. —The annual distribution of prizes to the pupils of the Christchurch Q iris' High School took place on Monday. There was a large attendance of the relatives and friends of the scholars, and the prises were given out by Mr Montgomery, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Canterbury College, who congratulated the school on the satisfactory results of the examination by Professor* Cook and Brown, and also on the report of the InspectorGeneral of Schools.
