ALPORT has received instructions from Miss Skillicorn, to sell by public auction, at her Store, Colombo Street, Christchurch, ON MONDAY & TUESDAY, the 9th and 10th January next, the following large and valuable assortment of goods, viz.:— Ladies' summer and other dresses in the piece, comprising bareges, muslins,muslin delaines, prints, French merinoes, &c. Ladies' and children's ready made dresses and under clothing, in great variety. Ladies' striped tweed petticoats, knitted jackets, mantles, &c. Children's woollen and cotton socks, cloth gaiters, infants' monthly gowns. Gentlemen's white and regatta shirts, woollen and cotton socks, travelling gaiters, Paisley and woollen travelling shawls. Scarlet blankets, sheeting in pairs, white and blue serge, drab jean, Scotch twill sheeting, cotton lace in great variety. All lots submitted will be sold without any reserve, in consequence of recent alterations, and to make room for a fresh stock of goods just arrived ex Ashburton. Specifications and conditions of the work, witli a standard scalo of prices, may be seen onapplication at our office, Gloucester-street, Christchurch, between tho hours of 10 and 4. Tenders to bo Kent to the Provincial' Secretary's Oftico by 12 o'clock on Saturday, Slsfc inst., endorsed "Tender for Painting at Christchurch." Each tender to stato simply at what uniform per centage, as premium or discount, the work will bo undertaken, on tho standard prieeß fixed by the Government.
