Christchurch on the 11th day of August next. The Synod will consist of three orders;— 1. The Bishop 2. The Licensed Clergy 3. The Representatives of "the Laity, 19 members. Any lay communicant of "the diocese may be 'elected to serve as a^synodsman, or representative of the laity. Every layman of the a^e of 21 years and upwards who shall sign a declai'ation in the form following " I do hereby declare that I am a -member of the United Church of England and Ireland in New Zealand," will be entitled to vote at the election of synodsmen for the parochial district in which he is resident.
