New Zealand.—These remarkable colonies now absorb :i large share of public attention. The wellknown fertility of the soil, the mildness of the climate, and the pains taken by the Government to encourage the emigration of suitable parties by free o-raiits of land and otherwise, all point to a future of greatness and prosperity. We notice that Messrs. H. T. Wilson and Chambers, of Liverpool, the owners of the White Star line of Australian ex-royal mail clippers, have decided to send a monthly line of packets for theleading ports of New-Zealand. We hail this circumstance as a great boon to intending emigrants. The -excellence of their ships, their rapid and uniform passages, the punctuality with •winch they are sailed, together with the great experience this firm has-had in the conveyance of emigrants, are material guarantees for the efficient manner in which this service will be carried out. Liverpool is par excellence the port for emigration; fend we have no doubt that this new enterprise will he thoroughly successful.— Home News.
