RANGITATA FEftRY; npHE Provincial Government are prepared -L to receive applications from persons desirous of occupying, the above, ferry on the following '.Conditions.:—•The contractor to build a-house of accommoda- | tion on the ferry reserve, on the north bank of the river; to provide beds for at least six- travellers and shelter for six horses; to erect suitable stock' yard and sheepyard, andrkeep the premises in good and tenantable repair-; to provide-ahorse and to be ready at all reasonable time* to convey passen. gers across the • river on horseback at a charge of 2s; 6d. each; to direct drays, and, if required to accompany them, at a charge of 2s. 6d. each • and to erect and maintain a fiag-pole 40 feet high, and keep a flag flying daily, fronv sunrise to sunset, on the terrace immediately above the house, so as to indicate the position of the- ford^ to parties comin» j from the northward. ° The Government will give a gratuity in money \ and grant the free use of the two reserves of lcio ' acres each, for a period of three yearß, if the conditional license for the house is retained so long, and will undertake td renew' the tenancy for a far' ther period of three years, on similar terms. And a license will b8 granted to rat timber on the Government Reserve in Talbot Forest, for the house yards, and fencing and firewood, for the first three years, free of charge. The Superintendent will grant a conditional license, free of charge, for the year ending 30th June, 1860, after which time application for its renewal must be made to the bench of Magistrates in accordance with the Public House Ordinance. Any further information may be obtained at this Office. _ Applications must be sent in within two month* from this date, and be accompanied by testimonials of the fitness of applicants. WAITANGI FERRY. njplHE Provincial Government are prepared JL to receive applications from persons j desirous of occupying the above Ferry on the following conditions :— The contractor to build a house of accomodation on the ferry reserve, on the North Bank of the river; to provide beds for at least six travellers, and shelter for six horses;. to erect suitable stockyard and sheepyard, and keep the premises in good and tenantable repair; to provide a punt or such other convenience as may be necessary to convey passengers or stock across the river at all reasonable times from sunrise to sunset* The Government will give a gratuity in money, and grant the free use of 100 acres of the reserve' for a period of three years, if the conditional license for the house is-retained so long; and will undertake to renew the tenancy for a further period of three years, on. similar terms. And a license will be^ granted to cut timber on the Government Reserve in the Waimatamata Bush, for the house, yards, artd fencing and firewood, for the first three years, free of charge. The Superintendent- will grant a conditional license free of charge for the year ending 30th June, 1860, after which time application for its renewal . must be made to the Bench of Magistrates, in accordance with the Public House Ordinance. Any further information may be obtained at this-'office.
