The Cup, if not challenged the ensuing-year, to be the property of the holder. Any person wishing to challenge the Cup, to give notice in writing to the Secretary of the C. J. Club, and to pay 10 soys. to the sweepstakes, one month previous to the first day of the races. Entrances for the above race to be made !to :the Secretary, on the Saturday before the races, 1860. CANTERBURY MAIDEN STAKES; " Of £6 each, li f (if declared to the Secretary on or before 6 o'clock on the Saturday before the races, 1860), with £100 added; open to all horses that have never won public money previous to the day of entrance.
