Markets.
We have nothing particular to note this week ; business is not very brisk, but prices of nearly all commodities rule high. In the stock market, Messrs. Fawdington and Guinness report the sale during the past week of two first-class draught geldings, which, with harness, realized £200. Some hackneys and light harness horses, at auction, fetched £41 to £57. Mr. Barnard had a sale of horses, ex White Swan, but the competition was not very brisk, and most of the lots were withdrawn. A piebald pony was sold for £40, and a promisingyearling colt was knocked down for £35. Mr. Parkinson also sold a few horses and some cows, but the prices can scarcely be considered remunerative. Reports are current of several cargoes of horses being likely to arrive here soon, and this probably keeps buyers backward, in the hope of .supplying themselves at cheaper rates.
