J^eto $Mmtisifmrritb. .; PROCLAMATION. TTTHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by VV the Lieut. Governor and Legislative Council of New Zealand, en tituled the "Slaughter .House Ordinance, Sess. VIII, No. 5," it was enacted that it should " be lawful for his Excellency the Governor by Proclamation from time to time to constitute and define certain Districts for the purpose" of regulating the Slaughtering Cattle in certain Districts. And whereas by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury entituled " The Empowering Ordinance, Sess. 11, No. 2," the powers conferred on the.Governor of New Zealand by the above recited Ordinance were within the limits of the Province of Canterbury conferred oh the Su-. perintendeht of the said province. : Now, therefore, I, William Sefton Moorhouse, the Superintendent of the said Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the above recited Ordinances, and of all other powers and authorities in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the 30th day of April, 1859, the "Ordinance for regulating the Slaughtering of Cattle, in certain places," and the provisions thereof shall come into operation and be in force within the limits of the Town of Akaroa, as the same is defined in a certain proclamation of the Superintendent of. the said Province of Canterbury, bearing date the. Ist day of May, 1856, and marked on such town on the map of the town and suburbs of Akaroa, marked A 3, signed by the Chief Surveyor, and deposited in the Land Office, at Christchurch. ' And I do further proclaim and declare that the said "Ordinance for regulating the Slaughtering of Cattle in certain places," and the provisions thereof shall from and after the said 30th day of April, 1859, come into, operation, and be in force within '. the limits of the Town of Kaiapoi, as the same is defined in the "Kaiapoi Town Ordinance, Sess. VIII., No. 7," of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the said Province of Canterbury, arid.numbered and marked MD 14 on the maps, : setting out and describing the Mandeville District of the Province of Canterbury, in the Land Office, Christchurch.
