In the Matilda Hays, Cookson, Bowler & Co. agents, 300 bushels wheat, E. J. Jones. The coasting schooner Sea Bird was capsized onv Thursday afternoon, whiie ballasting off the point of Quail Island. It appears that a squall from N. | W. struck her at a critical moment, and caused her to heel over, fill, and go dow.n. The three men came ashor6 in the dingy. Fortunately, where she lies there are only a few feet of water at low tide, and the Emu went to her assistance yesterday, with every prospect of being able to get her up without much loss. The Sea Bird belongs to the Messrs. Pavitt of Akaroa. The Mountain Maid left Sydney on the 22nd ult., and arrived here.on Thursday, having called at Wellington on her way. From papers "brought by her, we learn that the Dart entered outwards for this port direct on the 19th ult., and was advertised to sail on the 25th. The Raven cleared for this port' • via Wide Bay, on the 29th. The Prince Alfred was advertised to.sail for Nelson and all the other New Zealand ports on the 10th of February. The Arnira, ship, 624 tons, cleared for Otago on the 20th January. The Midlothian; barque, from London, October 8, arrived at Wellington on the 4th instant. ENGLISH SHIPPING. The September mail from Sydney was delivered at Southampton on November 12, via Marseilles. The Palmyra sustained great damage by collision with the barque Ellen Morrison, off Portland.
