' T WILLIAM SEFTON-.MOORHOUSE, Su-J-9 perintendent of the Province of Canterbury, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers'• vested ■in : me in that behalf, by the regulations now iv force for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown within the said province, proclaim and declare that the lands herein*; after described, that is to say: —Three thousand acres, more or less, bounded on the north-east by the main stream of the Hurunui, from the mound crossing to the junction of the Waitohi, on the south-east and south by the Waitohi from its junction with the Hurunui to the point opposite, and due south of the eastern end of the base line, and on the westward by a line from the eastern end of the base line, to fine mound crossing, shall be reserved temporarily for the Uses of the Provincial Government and fbriother public purposes. MALLOCK and WALKER have entered into an engagement with the Provincial Government to lease the foregoing reserve together with the dipping troughs, sheep yards, and other buildings now in course of construction on the South bank of the Hurunui, and that all sheep introduced into this Province across the North boundary of the Province will be required to be dressed at the troughs on this reserve. Messrs. ATalloek and Walker will find all materials and labor necessary for dressing the sheep, and are authorised by the Provincial Government to charge for every flock a fee for the same of Is. per bead for every bead of sheep up to 1000 inclusive, and for all sheep in one flock exceeding 1000, a fee of Bd. per head.
