The following memorial from "the inlrabitants of Lytteiton was intended to have been pre.sented on the last day of sitting, but was -accidentally delayed in its transmission till too ■late.
It had received nearly one hundred signatures of all classes in the course of the morning. We the undersigned electors of Lytteiton beg to call' ■your attention to the recent vote in Council for the sum of' --one hundred pounds towards the race fund at ChrLst■chureh. '
Seeing the liberalKy yon display in this, we humbly TefjDeiit that a nirailar sum may be granted towardii the regatta and aqnatie-«port<i, to take place at Lytteiton on ::Ne\r Year's Day.
