The commercial intelligence wili have considerable influence on our markets. Should the news be of a favourable character, we may reasonably esthat a more brisk and profitable demand will immediately commence for numerous leading articles of import. Kecent intelligence from our new gold-fields at Port Curtis has caused great excitement here. The reports are very favourable, and large numbers of diggers are preparing to take their departure from Sydney, Moreton Bay, and elsewhere, and try their fortune on the cew fields. Flour and Grain.—Since our last the price of flour has advanced, sales of barrel flour have been made at 4-is, and 455., the mills quote jt'ti per ton for Australian. It is generally supposed that prices have seen their lowest for this year, and that c. reaction must soon take place. Wheat is in good demand by the miflers at 8sf. fid. to Ss. 9d. per Tmshel.
