GENERAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTES.
We have received the following:—
No. 24. August 28. The Hon. C. W. Richmond is appointed ' Minister for Native Affairs.' The election of Dr. Featherston as Superintendent of Wellington1 is notified. Inquiries are made on behalf of the Foreign Office for one Reicker alias Romiro, a native of Wolfsberg, in Carinthia, or for any property held by him in New Zealand. The new Admiralty Regulations concerning Lights and Fog Signals, are published ■with Diagrams. Some other notices to Mariners follow. (We hope Mariners find Gazettes to be a convenient Medium for obtaining information.) R. F. Porter, "Esq., is appointed Assistant-Trea-surer of New Zealand. As a supplement, the Acts of the last Session of the Assembly from 48 to 52 are published. No. 25, Sept. 6. Lieut. Col. Charles Sillery is appointed a, Justice of the Peace for the Colony of New Zealand. The late elections in Wellington for the House of Representatives are notified.- The Colonial Secretary requests that '* all Memorials or other Communications praying ■enquiries or making complaints respecting the administration of any department of the General Government, may be transmitted through the local head of the Department referred to. Some more 'Notices to Mariners' are published; and Acts 53 to 59 (the Electoral Acts,) form a supplement.
