• SAILED. August 9, ship Maori, for Wellingron,
There was a rumour current in town on Monday to the effect that the schooner General Palmer, having two tons of oil on board, was wrecked, somewhere on the North coast, and that all hands were lost. It was stated that the report had come overland, but we could not ascertain any further particulars.
