MORETON BAY.
A memorial "is in course of signature to* be forwarded by an early opportunity to her Majesty's advisers^ praying; the boundary of the future northern colony "may be fixed at the 30th parallel; in accordance with the provisions of. the Constitution, Act; or to leave it to be determined by a vote of the resident householders '-, •when the population of the Clarence and Richmond districts shall number 10,000., : ; : More Murders by the Bcaces.—-I^men-tioned in my.last communication per:Yarra Yarra, that the native police : had, at a station called Conger, slaughtered seven unoffending; aborigines (at the time of the outrage no officer 1 believe, being in charge of the detachment);; the natural consequence has followed this unprovoked attack. Two Chinamen, employed at the adjoining- station of Collington have been murdered in revenge; it is supposed, by a party oi blackfellows, headed by a partially civilized tlavkie named Sprightly, 'Will the Government tolerate these brutal outrages any longer, or is exterminating war in the very heart of our community to bo suffered thus to go on unchecked? We trust not. Humanity and justice demand instant interference on tho part of the Legislature. A Raxd by the Aborigines.—One of tho most daring and successful robberies that stamp tlio perpetrators as being possessed of ho common pluck and hardihood, was committed a lew days sincu, in tho neighbourhood of tho
populous town of Ipswich, by a party of some half dozen, of .blacks.. The particulars, as far as I. have. been enabled to gather, are simply these:—A. couple of drays loaded with flour and other rations, were en route io an interior and, as usual, the men in charge were !about to turn i the bullocks out for the night, to camping, when a party of black (fellows surrounded the men in charge of the :teams, andsupon finding the. people were not 'willing to give them flour, attacked them, put (them; to flight by" over numbers, and coolly appropriated the contents of both drays.-— Cor[respondent of a Brisbane Paper.
