To the Editor of the Lyttetton Times. Sin,-'A^ettler,' one of■■ your correspondents of to-days issue,- lias put forth a tnisstatement to the effect, that the Savings Bank tablishedin Canterbury is " part of an Austvt Han Company ;"• (what' part' isnot stated) ami .;" therefore not so identified "with;theinterests of the proviiice,'/ and, "not;-likely to take an onwai'd step," &cv, '&c. '■ : /-'■■'■ The Savings Bank was established by resi:dents andsettlers of the province, who are the rtrustees.
