Markets.
Afc Mr. Parkinson's sale of horses, at Christchurch, on, Saturday last, those landed here from the Malay fetched from £31 10s. to i 857 10s. each.
Wheat deliverable in Port, sold at 6s. 6d. per Ibushel; potatoes, under similar conditions, £6 10s. per ton; and oats, delivered at the Ferry {allowance made for bags) at 6s. per bushel. Elour continues at our former quotations,— 18s. per 100 lbs. at Christchurch and Kaiapoi^ and 225. at Lyttelton. In the other market items there is no alteration.
We have had no arrivals beyond our coasters since last publication; and only one clearance, that of the Nourmahal, -which sails to-day, wind permitting. The exports by her -will be found in our shipping intelligence. The steamer Planet and river lighters have had abundance of ■work to and from the neighbouring settlements during the week; and the wharf exhibited more than' usual activity on the part of those who "were landing luggage and cargo from the Maori. The recurrence of fine weather seems to have infused, new life throughout our little fleet, as well as yigor and freshness into all our country transactions.
