And, Thirdly, in History, Ancient, and Modern, The History of the Church, Physical Geography, and one or more Modern Languages. " In estimating the comparative merits of the candidates, marked proficiency in any one of the three branches, even if there should be great deficiency in one or both of the remainder, will be rated higher than a superficial knowledge of a greater number of subjects." .
