DIED.
At Wellington, on the 31st ultimo, aged 43 •years, James Charles Rudson Wood, Esq., Assistant Commissary General, deeply regretted by all who knew him. Mr. Wood entered the service of the Queen of Spain, in the year 1834, and through his bravery in the field, raised himself to the rank of Major in that service, he having been present in three general engagements, besides numerous skirmishes with the enemy. He joined the Commisariat Department at Sydney, New South Wales, in the year 1844, as Commissariat Clerk, and through his continued attention, coupled with a complete knowledge of his duties, was particularly noticed by the Lords of Her Majesty's Treasury, who conferred upon , him the rank of A. C. G. in January 1855.
