CHRISTCHURCH FARMERS' CLUB.

■In pursuance o£ the notice that appeared last week, a public meeting of agriculturists was held at the Town Hall, Christchureh, on Saturday, May 22nd, for the purpose of forming a Farmers' Club. Thechair was taken by Jos. Bridge, Esq., and the following'resolutions were unanimously agreed to. Proposed by Mr. T. Wilkinson, seconded by Mr. Brttnsden : —" That a large amount of capital being invested in agricultural pursuits -and an increasing number of persons engaged in them, it is expedient to form a farmers' discussion, club, the establishment of which would give an impetus to the agricultural interest, and promote the general welfare of the province. 1' Proposed by Mr.';, Milne; seconded by.the Rev. J. Wilson :—" That as soon as twentyfive persons shall put down their names as members, the club shall, be considered as formed, and shall proceed to the election of qfiicers and of an acting'committee for the formation of bye laws, &c." ' ; Immediately after the above'resolutions were passed, thirty-five names were/put down as members, and .the club, being formed, proceeded at once to the election of officer^ and an acting committee. . : " / Proposed by tho Rev.
