The Spray was hove-to for eighteen days without a lull of more than three or four hours? being chiefly in the neighbourhood of the East Cape. No accident occurred to spars or rigging, but five out of a lot of twenty-two maiden ewes of Mr. Rich's celebrated merino flock which were on board, were j drowned by a sea shipped. The rest have arrived in safety. The Mary Clarke from this port arrived in Sydney on the Ist of April. The passenger trade from England to Australia and New Zealand is represented as indifferently supported. The Strathfieldsaye sailed for Otago from Greenock on the 25th January. The Nourmahal from Gravesend for Otago and Canterbury on the 27th January. The Ambrosine^was to sail for Wellington, Canterbury and Nelson on February 15.
