We are compelled to cut very short several interesting items prepared for to-day, to make room for foreign news. The; business before the Assembly at .Auckland will be found foreshadowed in his Excellency's address. In the Upper House, Mr. Blakiston moved, and Mr. Curling seconded, the reply, in the Lower', Messrs. Beekham . and Ollivier performed the similar services. We shall endeavour to give a fuller report in our next. <■ Mr. Charles C. Bowen has taken a seat in the Executive Council of this province. As far as we can gather the present Government is composed irrespective of any theories of political party, but with a view solely to the practical management of the public business. ( His Excellency the Governor has appointed William John Warburton Hamilton, Esq., Charles Christopher Bowen, Esq., and Thomas Cass, Esq. to be_ Commissioners of Native Keserves, in the Province of Canterbury, under the " New Zealand Native Reserves Act, 1856." - By the latest priv,ate advices we learn that Mr. Sewell was not expected to sail for New Zealand till about June. Mr. Eitz Gerald had not arrived in England at the latest dates. :
