The schooner Francis, from Sydney, arrived in this port on Wednesday morning. The previous day she fell in, off. Banks' Peninsula, with the ship Burmah, from London for Wellington, 96 days out, with about 200 passengers, all well. The Burmah sent a boat on board the Francis to ask for a supply of potatoes; but there were none to spare. She would.probably reach Port Nicholson the next or succeeding day.

Loss of the James Gibsox. —Schooner Jeuue Antoinette reports that the schooner James Gibson, of Sydney, 138 tons burthen, Captain Henry Mennie, from Adelaide, 10th December, bound to Mauritius, with a cargo of flour, butter, and specie (£4,000), Avas wrecked on the reefs on the southward of Rodrigues on the 20th January, at 5.30 p.m. The crew, mail, and specie saved. The Jeune. Antoinette brings the second officer and five of the crew, the master and first ma.te remained at Rodrigues.— Mauritius Gazette, 2nd Feb.
