Tim.vru. —The Mary Thomson schooner, which returned from TlrnaTU on Sunday, was detained for five days at that Toadstead-; during a heavy squall from the S.E. she parted one of her chains, leaving behind her the same anchor that she parted from on her previous trip. The bearings of the Government moorings are at present, from Captain Cain's store, the house furthest N. on the beach, S.W. by S., with the outer edge of the reef bearing S.E., in four fathoms water, about three quarters of a mile off shore;- -Thereis a warping buoy for the boats further in shore, which is much sooner visible than the moorings, the latter being at present only a log of wood, antl swimming very deep. Captain Muirhead. who has"Yuxhtshea"tnese particulars, states that had there been a proper buoy attached to th e moorings he. should not have ran the risk o losing his anchor and twenty fathoms of chain^ as he had the misfortune to do on this trip.
