PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON. NOTICE TO IMMI&BANTB. " nnHE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT -I. of Wellington will, in pursuance of the Resolution of the Provincial Council, be prepared to convey to each immigrant, (introduced under their Regulations) as soon as he shall have redeemed his Promissory Note or Notes, a quantity of land equal in value (at the rate of 10s. an acre) to one fourth of the j amount of his Passage Money. For example:! every immigrant on redemption of his Promissory Note or Notes, will be entitled to receive ten acres of land for every Twenty Pounds he he, shall have paid on account of the Passage of himself and family. These grants of land will either be made out Lof blocks specially reserved for Immigration purposes in Small Farm or Agricultural Settlements, or in the immediate vicinity of Roads in process of construction; or the Immigrant may select the quantity to which he shall he declared entitled out of any lands open to purchase as Rural. In order to facilitate the location of Immigrants desirous of immediately settling upon land and of being employed on the Public. Works, Reserves will be made wherever practicable, along or near each line of road, and will be laid off in Ten-acre Sections, -which the Immigrants will be permitted at once to occupy, receiving a> conveyance of the same as soon as they shall have paid the whole of their Passage Money. Parties desirous of availing themselves of this privilege in the block at present being surveyed in'the Grey Town Settlement, are requested to make immediate application to the undersigned, who will give any further information that majbe required. HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified for public in forma-; tion that' the upset price of the Eastern and Southern .portions of the Christchurch Town ; Reserves, will, from and after the date hereof, be Fifty-Two Pounds '-sterling per acre, the additional two pounds per acre being required to provide a fund for the effectual draining of that portion of the Estate. TTIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENJUL DENT directs it to be notified for public information, that the Town Reserves of Christchurch are open for Sale on the following terms; and that a map signed by the Provincial Engineer* may be seen during Office hours, in the Provincial Secretary's Office, Christchurch, setting forth the Sections into which the land j will be divided for the purpose of sale, with a ; list attached, describing .the number, measure- !i ment, contents, and upset price of every Section.; 1. Every person desirous of purchasing any : portion of the Town Reserves must make a; written application, addressed to the Provincial Secretary, stating the section or sections which he or she is desirous of purchasing, and describing the same by reference to the number on' the Map and List above referred to. 2. Land so applied for will be put up at Public Auction, at the upset price specified on the List, not being less than after the rate of Fifty Pounds per acre. 2- Any number of sections comprised in one block, and named in one application, not excee- ■ ding five acres, will be put up to Auction as one lot. 4; In every case of purchase of land not exceeding half an acre, a deposit of Ten per cent of the purchase money must be paid at the Auction, and the remainder within one week thereafter, at the end of which period if the purchase be not completed, the Section will be again immediately put up to Auction and the deposit forfeited. 5. Any quantity of land exceeding half an acre may be acquired either by absolute purchase on payment of the purchase money in manner provided by the 4th term of sale, or by lease,, the lessee; undertaking to purchase the land on ; the following terms, viz. :--Ten per cent, of the purchase money to be paid at the Auction,— thirty per cent, within three years thereafter, the remainder on or before the expiration of; •the lease. The lease to be for a term of years | not exceeding Seven, at an annual rent of seven [• per cent, on the unpaid portion of the purchase money, and to contain, in addition to those implied .under the Conveyancing Ordinance covenants by the lessee for the payment of the. purchase money as above mentioned, power to be reserved to the Lessor to re-enter on the breach of any of the Lessee's covenants. 6. The purchaser may obtain his conveyance, or lease, as the case may be, and may be put Jn possession, on payment of £1. 7.
