THE Canterbury Maiden Plate, Value 100 Soys., added to a Sweepstakes of 6 Soys. each, P.P., open to all horses foaled in New Zealand and that have never won public money, previous to the day of entrance. Litchfield Plate Weights, one mile and a-half, the second horse to receive 20 soys. out of the stakes. No person allowed to enter a horse unless lie is a subscriber of at least 2 guineas to this fund. Five Horses to start or no Race, entrance money to be paid, and all entries stating the name of horse, pedigree as far as known, and colours of the rider, to be sent (under sealed cover) to the Secretary of the Canterbury Jockey Club, at the Golden Fleece Hotel, Christchurch, on or before the first Saturday in June, 1858, at 6 p.m. The Winner to pay 5 soys. towards the expenses of the race course.
