ALPORT begs to state that in consequence of requiring- his Auction Rooms for a Bonded Store, he will Sell by Public Auction on MONDAY NEXT, THE 15th INSTANT, a large assortment of Merchandise to close consignments, viz.,— Brandy in cases and draught, sherry and Marsala wines, champagne, bottled ale, Geneva in red cases. Rice, coffee, chocolate, bottled fruit, pickles, anchovy paste, and assorted sauces. Hops, mould candles, soap, butter. White lead, best quality, Europe roap, ash oars. Blankets scarlet and white, Marsala quilts, white counterpanes, long cloth. Blue serge shirts, Scotch twill, regatta and white do., moleskin trowsers, lambswool shirts, blue and scarlet Jersey frocks, California and Canadian do., lambswool and cotton drawers, hosiery and gloves in great assortment, braces, cravats, drab, printed and miller's moleskin in piece, shooting and pilot coats, reversible do., Valencia waistcoats, blouses, drab, jean suits, &c. Black watered moire silk, sky do., pink and crimson do., pink satin, bishop's lawn, sprig lappets, habit shirts, sleeves, chemisettes and collars, flowers, trimming, velvets, hair nets, plumes, infant's clothing, &C. Table covers, cheese cloth, glass do., medical rubber, towelling, diaper, damask, toilet cloth, &c. Straw hats and bonnets. Note.—Every lot submitted will be sold without the slightest reserve, it being necessary to clear the premises without delay. Sale at Noon. Terms Liberal. Feb. 9th, 1858. SITUATION WANTED. WANTED, by an experienced and competent Man, a situation either in Lyttelton or Christchurch. Could take entire charge of a merchant's warehouse or store.
