There was no.later news from England or India, nor any arrival from Australia. The Ashburton lay seven weeks in Wellington harbour, during which time she fitted a new raizen-mast. She left in port the John Mac Vicar and the Gleaner, both which vessels hail' arrived before her. The Southern Cross was loadmg wool in Hawke's Bay. ,
