The John Mao Vicar arrived on Thursday the 12th instant, beating the Gleaner and Ashburton, which vessels had sailed four days before her. She brought neither passengers nor car^o for this port. The Mary Louisa reports tha*t a barque, supposedto bs the Gtaaner, was off Port Nicholson on Thursday, the 19th inst., and would get in that evening or the following day. The Mary Louisa also passed the schooner Canterbury, on Thursday, off Cape Campbell; she would doubtless arrive in Wellington on Friday. ENGKMSH SHIPPING. —SAILED.

The following vessels are advertised in the English papers for New Zealand, viz :— Willis & Co.'s Line.—For Wellington and New Plymouth, ship Joseph Fletcher, 1000 tons, to sail in October; ship Tamar, 1000 tojis, to sail in September. For Wellington and Nelson, the ship Creswell, 1000 tons, to sail in August. Young & Co.'s Line.—For Auckland and New Plymouth, ship William Watson, 480 tons, J. R. Brown, to sail in August. For Otago, the ship George Canning, 411 tons, G. M. Sim, to sail on the 18th August. The ship Westminster was also laid on for this port. John Morrison & Co.'s Line.—For Nelson and Wellington, the Bhip Acasta, 600 tons, T. Ahier, to sail on the 31st August. The barque Monsoon, 500 tons, William Turnbull, daily expected from New Zealand, was to be despatched forthwith by Messrs. Filby & Co., for Nelson and Wellington.
