AUCKLAND.

We have papers from this province to the 24th ult., being three weeks later than our previous advices.

The elections for the Provincial Council were in progress, and, so far as they had gone, were strongly in favour of the Superintendent's ' Constitutional' party ; in fact the ' Progress ' party had not put forward any men to represent their views. Where any opposition had been attempted' to the Government candidates, even by independent and no party men, it had been defeated. The papers' still keep up the bitter tone of personal animosity, and contain nothing else of interest. "
