TO THE ELECTORS OF THE AVON DISTRICT. /GENTLEMEN,—Having- sat in the VJT late Provincial Council as representative of the Christchurch Country District, and that large district being now divided according to the provisions of the Provincial Council Extension Ordinance, I have the honor to present myself to you as a candidate for the representation of the Avon District in the next Provincial Council of Canterbury. I have been induced to seek this honor at your hands rather than from any other body of Electors, because my interests are more' immediately connected with your neighbourhood, and I am perhaps better known to you than in most of the other districts. Should you honor me with your confidence on this occasion, I shall endeavour, as heretofore,to advance the interests of the whole Province, and now especially those of the Avon District.
