TO THE ELECTOES OF THE TOWN OP LYTTELTON DISTRICT. i^ENTLEMEN,— I have had the honor VX to receive a requsition sig-ned by a (^majority of you—the Electors of the Town of Lyttelton—requesting me to allow myself to be put in nomination at the ensuing election to serve as a member of the Provincial Council. In complying with this request, I can only refer you to my past conduct during the time I had the honor of a seat in the late Council, as a guarantee of my constant attendance and faithful discharge of my duties as a member, and alsoof my anxious desire to promote the advancement and prosperity of this, the most important province of New Zealand, and the best interests of the neglected town and port of Lyttelton. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE AVON DISTRICT. r^ENTLEMEN,— Having- been invited vX by a numerous body of the Electors of this District to allow myself to be put m nomination as a candidate for your suffrages in the next Provincial Council, I accept this invitation, assuring you that, if elected, I will use my best endeavours to promote the general welfare of the colony.
